Wholly unpractical for daily wear! Not work appropriate! Prone to traffic-stopping-stares! Out buying groceries in that?!

Shenanigans, I'll find a way.

Georgia, a one inch heeled "Motorcycle boot" with a buttload of buckles. Now I just need a motorcycle, and the rest of the riding leathers to go with it...

These are pretending to be snow boots with attitude. They are NOT snow boots. Unless your idea of snow is a few weeks in Aspen going to parties and lounging fire-side with cocktails and listening to men-who-ski tell epic tales and smoke cigars.

I'd be down for that. Completely.

Clare - is a black suede stacked heel boot, with a neat buckle....thing that covers the laces. I'm ready for Winter now, just not the snow.

Red. Suede. Straps. Pointy platforms. These pumps mean red-scarlet-harlot business. Just sayin'.

Sorry, my bad. ALMOND toed pumps. Gotta use the right terminology. Jeez. Alvy has a (modest for these) 4.5 inch heel. Red suede, with red patent straps.

There's a word that foodie's use to describe a kind of flavor you can't really describe because it's a little different for everyone. Umami.

I need a term like that for shoes. I have a look/style/feeling that I watch for. Somewhere in the category of unusual/eccentric/eye-catching/bizarre/distinct/almost-one-of-a-kind. None of those words really do it for me. But these shoes do.

Gina - black rhinestone buckled Mary Jane's. I'm a sucker for Mary Jane's of any heel height. And the neat part of theses, aside from the just-unusual-enough heel shape, is how the sides and back come up just past where you might expect, ut not too far to make them booties.

And we all know I'm a sucker for rhinestones.

Eeeeeeeee houndstooth! Do I actually own any houndstooth footwear yet? I can't rememebr. Well I do now. This just feels like a pair Jamie would wear with her Love Detective get-up in GWS.

Urban they call her, and I don't know WHY they decided to use that. These aren't terribly urban, unless your idea of urban is a Sherlock-esque detective lady. With sass. And lots of boobage. Because that's way more accurate. Wither way, I have hounds-tooth booties. All is well.

Getting all the fierce shoes out of my system before the new work dress code kicks in. No more open toes, or high heels or outlandish styles. Boo. I will find a way to wear sassy but sensible shoes to work.

Or die trying.

But I'd rather not die.

Lexus - black patent and Lycra platform pump. The Lycra makes this pair so comfortable, it's insane. No zippers or buckles to tighten or rub me wrong. It's like wearing a pair of yoga pants on my feet, in...shoe form. That totally makes sense, just work with me here.

Tangent: they come in other "colors". If by colors you mean ZEBRA with red patent, and LEOPARD with black patent. Those are not colors. Those are seriously 90's patterns that should for the most part remain in the 90's.

Unless you're having a 90's party, in which case I might be incredibly well prepared.

Ok, these walk the line of being totally hoochie. I mean, even their name...but I like red, and I'm sure there will be an opportunity or need to be stupidly tall.

5.5 inch heels in these babies. Honestly now, that's just asking for trouble.

They're called Hucci, which is a few letters misspelled from Hoochie. Which they pretty much are, to be honest. Red velvet cage platform pumps.

Don't ask me how to make these marginally classy, I'm not sure if even I can do that.

I am so wearing these with one of my delightful viintage dresses next month for a wedding. Lace everywhere.

Alena - Black lace peep toe pumps. Also: asymmetrical, awesome, adorable, and alliterative.

What category are these anyway? Not wedges exactly. Espadrilles? Kind of. You have to admit the wacky heel thing is pretty snazzy. Yeah, I said snazzy. Next thing you now I'll be using keen and swell. Watch out. I'm on a roll!

They're called Zayne - black velvet avant garde platform heel wrap sandal. Mouthful! I only half wrapped them on at first, I think the wraps will go nicely halfway up my calf. Now, getting it to STAY there. That's always been my issue with espadrilles. My calves do not like to keep things wrapped on them, rather they like to push things down to my ankles.

Now, I need to find some kind of zany outfit to wear with them. That'd be super swell.

How many ways can I wear sandals right now?

All of them.

Rhinestone studded sneaky snakey sandaley...thing. Also, Pessi is the name of this one. How is THAT a name?

Tested these out for work today. Really wish I had more crop pants or skinny leg pants that were work appropriate. Oh how I dread the new dress code when we move. I love skirts, but they just aren't comfortable for me at work.

These are nice glamed up semi-gladiator sandals. They don't go too far up the ankle, but there are plenty of straps. All zipped in the back though, this gladiator will NOT be fighting any lions today thanks, and needs to easily remove them.

Why is it that so many thong-style sandals feel the need to have a little plastic tube covering the toe-separating part? It always rubs ten times worse than the fabric or faux-leather? Silly thing, if you ask me. But you know what's great? Rhinestones. I am in love with rhinestones on my feetsies right now. A little bit of Rarity in me perhaps?

Gladiator sandal boot...things? This style still confuses me a little. Kind of like peep toe boots. What's up with THOSE? But they're comfy and I adore the buckles and straps. Must be my thing. What does THAT say about me, huh? Still a little tight on the calves, but then again I apparently have mutant legs.

MUTANT LEGS!

Sandals are all I can wear right now, which is convenient because it is summer and BALLS HOT. These were today's pick. Frighteningly comfortable and sparkly to boot. Though that strap at the middle area is completely useless and kind of annoying. Might do a bit of shoe surgery and improve them for next time.

They call them Andrix. Who names shoes anyway? Some of these names are just.....bizarre. Like a cross between a hat full of stripper names, and some kind of new cocktail. Which will assuredly all end up in glitter in places you don't intend and probably a few regrets. Sound like a new Zach Galifianakismovie?

The Shoe Fairy just visited me again, and it was quite delightful. 14 pairs in all, minus the one pair that was back-ordered and not sent. Boo. I just had minor surgery on my left toe earlier this week, so I can't properly wear them all yet, but I can totally try them all on (one foot obv.) and sneak shots in the fading daylight.

And because this happened to be post #69....well I had to use the sexiest of the shoesies. Oh man.

Brianna, just over the knee black leather platform stiletto with star and half-round studs up the back. Laces at the thigh.

Appropriate for #69?

These are pair #124, in the grand scheme of things. Very grand I say.

I had been bludgeoned into getting out with friends for a day of thrift stores. Being broke sucks, esp. when you keep seeing things you want or need. There was a fantastic suitcase, for $15, in great condition and with all the neat inside pockets. I saw this amazing pair of almost mary jane pumps. They fit perfectly, and they were PINK. God I wanted them. But, having $0 to my name, it was not to be.

And then I went back two days later. The lovely suitcase was gone. But these were still there. And now, with a paycheck under my belt, and a little free money, it was obviously meant to be.

A collection

Got all my shoes down from where they were stored and found a free weekend to go through them. Had a free day, so I sat down with all the bins and boxes and took a shot of every shoe.

Total: 123

Of course I've since added to that, but only by one pair. Won DSW's Free Shoes Friday again last week, so I know there will be some shopping as soon as I get the card. So the total really stands at 124.

(For now)

Won Free Shoesday last week via DSW's facebook. As part of my commitment to work out consistently, I gave up the card to buy sensible workout shoes instead of another pair of heels or boots...

I picked the Nike Air Visi Sleek Running shoe, since it was not only on sale, well rated, and had teal in the design, it also reminded me of Portal in the styling. This shoe is not an experiment! Nerding over. Mostly.

Oh, and I also got the Shoe Lovers Tote, as it was on super sale and super cute. I'd missed out by scant hours on getting the free shirt; sold out, DAMN! But this was way nicer than expected! Snaps and zippered pockets and lining and everything! I was expecting another generic shopping tote bag like you can get at grocery stores. Totally way better than that. Also, $5. WIN.

66

Three years ago, the first post was made. I started on a lark to see if I could keep up with something for a month, as well as to see if I really could match outfits with shoes for a month straight. I figured, do a month of posts for shoes, and maybe move on to something else. It kinda got a mind of it's own. Three years later, and I'm just over halfway through my collection.

I'll be the first to admit, I haven't really been the best at keeping to the schedule. Camera death, moving three times, and all kinds of other unforeseen things came up. 66 posts in three years isn't the best run, but 66 pairs of shoes IS. And despite the massive backlog of shoes that still haven't been posted yet along with the awesome influx of shoes from my DSW wins and Secret Santa, I have plenty of ammunition left.

So here's to 66 now, and 66 more...and maybe 66 more after that.....and so on.

Today we have these delightful Kafayat peep toe booties in black. Yes, those are sequins covering the entire shoe, and yes, those are some 4" spike heels. (They also have a frighteningly good grip on the soles.

Green shoes! I do have green shoes! These are Tabitha faux suede peep toe pumps.

Used some gift cards I had for DSW today, I needed a pick me up. Wanted a new purse, in a much much bigger size than the last clutch size bag I got. It's got a delightful amount of pockets, way more than I need, but will definitely find a use for. And super cute pumps, on sale!

These I wore last week at the shop before the weather went nasty. They're Journee ankle booties with a delightful faux fold over cuff and oversize buttons. Grey suede. I'm clearly on a suede kick lately.

I've found it's difficult to keep up with this when I don't have an on-staff photographer on call. Or following me around. Kittens are terrible photographers, and I've run out of self-taken shot ingenuity. So my (few) readers will forgive me if I start forgoing the "whole look" shot in the rest of these posts.

I'm Lazy. With a capital L.

But what I can do is start posting just shots I snap on my way into work every morning. Less planning footwear for a half mile walk from the parking lot, more choosing a new pair to wear on the bus ride to the office instead. And given that I just got 20 new pairs from my Secret Santa over the Christmas break...yeah...

So, for today: the Kamiah fuchsia suede peep-toe ankle booties.

Way warmer than one would expect for peep toes in 30 degree weather.
